"Don't think it,

Don't say it...

Don't think it...

Don't say it." is the tagline of this film, and don't get me wrong they don't make it hard for you to not remember. Throughout the film, rather is it the beginning, middle or the end this tagline will linger in your ears long after you left the cinema.

Let's rewind a bit...

This film revolves about this urban legend called "Bye Bye Man", which is a curse that can be summoned if you say his name or even think about him; and the only way to undo this curse is to eliminate everyone that knows the being's name including yourself. The being it self does not kill people, it provokes whoever calls his name or think about him to do evil/violent crimes, usually against their own friends and family.

I am not going to give away too much, as this is still a new release.

In theatres: January 6 2017

On DVDs: March 28 2017

The concept of this film was original but it falls short on the execution. For example, the "Bye Bye Man" creature looks like Death from Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) so I couldn't help but giggle whenever I see this "Bye Bye Man." Come on, it looks like he is Death's cousin, or at least related to him. Second, the acting was a bit over the top but given the way the lines were written; the actors did an alright job in expressing the lines for what it is. Third, I just wished that the creature or being looked scary, I would even be satisfied if it looked like the creature from Jeepers Creepers. And if they couldn't come up with a scary creature design, I would much rather it be invisible and let the actors reactions and lighting tell the story.

The film over all was pretty entertaining and a bit suspenseful. I didn't get bored at all, the only major problems as I mentioned above is the over the top acting that is quite unbelievable/comical and the creature's design. But for the concept it was surely original, and I was also dying to see a film that incorporates the idea of curses, acts of bizarre murders/incidents lead by a supernatural force,

So a couple keywords that sums the movie up!

-Death from Bill and Ted Bogus's Journey

-Quija board

-Teenagers running amok

-Guns, lots of gunshots

-Family murders/suicides

-Comical

-Dark (lighting wise)

3/5

Enjoy it whenever you are bored, this movie is a fun trip if you are just going for a ride and wants some silly cliche fun.
